This qualification forms part of the QA First Aid suite of qualifications. The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:

This QA qualification outlines a range of knowledge and practical skills in providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely. Learners will practise assessing and managing a casualty who needs CPR and the safe use of an AED.
This qualification is for people who have a specific interest or a responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to be able to provide CPR when dealing with an emergency which may involve using an AED.
QA Level 2 Award in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and AED
Learners must be at least 16 years old on the first day of the training. There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
